I regularly stop by buying some food in this place. I enjoyed the fast service and well cooked food. Never disappointing.
MoreGood food. Nice atmosphere. Nothing to write home about.
Exceptional restaurant. Chicken Mikanese a real stand out. Jeffrey was an excellent server
MoreDon’t expect to be served, even if you show up more than an hour before closing time on a Saturday and the restaurant is mostly empty.
MoreI was expecting so much more. The food was just ‘ok’ and it was expensive.
What a wonderful place for really good comfort food. Consistent, high quality, creative and very competent. Having come here over many years I've always had a great experience. This time I had a three bean salad to start. Beautiful quality beans of varied sizes and deliciously dressed. The portion was large and I couldn't stop munching at it. With a glass of white wine it was divine. Then I had the halibut, perfectly prepared. It was tender, moist and cooked just right. The salsa with it, all around the sides, was delicious and a highlight of the meal including the cubes of bacon. The entire dish was tasty and provided lots of satisfaction. On a weekday evening at 9pm the place was packed. The Belle Monde comes out in force. The decor is sophisticated and intimate. I will say that it does get noisy. This is a charming neighborhood gem and always worth a visit.
MoreBy far and away a top favorite restaurant in SF. The food is phenomenal every.single.time! As a local Realtor I get asked often about great places to go in various neighborhoods, and I'd highly recommend Garibaldi's!!!!
MoreLove this place! I jokingly call it my kitchen away from home because I would make these dishes if I had the time. We eat here at least twice a week and I've never been disappointed. Top service, fantastic food, delicious drinks/wines and mouth watering desserts.
MoreVery nice. A lot of competition in SF for Italian, of course. Chicken Milanese lived up to raves by others. All in all a good experience.
MoreQuaint local spot. A nice mix of variety in beverages and foods, the Milanese is what the locals go for.
MoreFood was great!
Great food! Food was served hot and just the way i ordered it. Service was amazing. Felt like I was being served like an actual valued customer. And to top that off, my coffee cup never went empty until I was leaving. This was my first time...and I'll definitely will return.
MoreThis is a neighborhood fine restaurant with excellent food, service, and atmosphere. I love the marinated lamb tenderloins, it literally melts in your mouth! One of the starters, calamari is not deep-fried, but nicely grilled, with beans. This is my favorite in the happy hour menu. The bar is always packed, especially during happy hours. One of my favorite places in the city.
MoreHuge restaurant with tons of seating and easy reservations with great food and service. Portions sizes are quite large and I was easily filled to the brim. The brussel sprouts are an absolute standout small dish to start. The salad ordered as an entree was just massive with a mountain of food. The seated tuna entree was great but maybe a tad bit over salted but the dessert was a great way to finish the meal and I loved that they placed some candles to celebrate my birthday.
MoreFood is good but a little crowded an no real theme. Very old time SF.
Great service and good quality of food overall. I give a 3 star because the Duck breast was not very well cooked and it comes with almost no side, then not worth the price. Also profiterolles are really good but you need to take the bigger portion 12$ for 4 pieces compared to 9$ for 2 pieces. Still a very good desert.
MoreReally disappointed in our first visit to Garibaldi's. Went for Valentine's Day. My wife made the reservation two months in advance and we were called to ask to put a credit card down to save the reservation. We were not informed it was a price fixed dinner at $75 a plate until we got there. Still ok if the food had been decent. Most of the dishes were OK at best and the desert just flat fell on its face basically just a chocolate pudding dirt cup. Three courses for that price felt like we majorly got taken for a ride. Cannot imagine what kind of margin these guys made on this dinner. I know it's Valentine's and there is a ton of demand but the price was excessively high and the execution was horrible. The normal menu looked much more impressive and reasonably priced but stay away if there is a fixed price special menu. Sadly I don't think we'll try this place again after leaving hungry and disappointed for $240
MoreI cannot say enough about the amazing creations Luigi and company created tonight at Imagine Photography's Grand Opening. The most imaginative finger foods I have ever seen. Risotto bites, bite size chicken and waffles, and the crab cakes!! Oh, I almost forgot the cannoli, they were simply melt in your mouth amazing!! It was total food porn!
MoreNot somewhere I'd immediately think to go for happy hour, but the specials on food and drink are spectacular. The craft cocktails here are very, very good, as is the food. The grilled calamari is tasty, but not my favorite. The steak is amazing, though. The wine list — and the special pairings — are a great special treat for dinner. Great neighborhood place with good atmosphere, friendly service, and excellent food.
MoreSo disappointed. Again. Have given this institution many chances Over the years. I'm done. The most blame, tasteless food. As my companion stated "I couldn't be more disappointed by this food".
MoreExcellent local neighbourhood restaurant. Fantastic food and service. Not cheap, but well worth it.
MoreWow! Great cucumber martini!! And super service from our bartender, Troy!
Great food good service nice atmosphere
Our party of 5, including a NYC visitor, was seated on quiet Tuesday night at the best possible table for good conversation, the round table in the back of the main floor. We had five different dishes and it was all superb. Wonderful evening.
MoreGreat service. Excellent food. One of the better med-range CA cuisine spots. Very large portions. Nice taste medley without too much salt. Will be going back.
MoreOne of the best dining experiences we had in a long time. Portions are huge and worth every penny. See you again soon!
MoreA nice neighborhood restaurant, on the upscale side. We probably didn't pick the best dishes but the fact that the dishes we picked were mediocre shows it can be hit or miss. Dessert was fantastic but service was inattentive. Noise was not bad. Street parking only but available within a two block radius from the restaurant. Reservation is recommended as it appears a popular neighborhood place.
MoreTruly excellent food, service and ambiance.
Food, service, and atmosphere is great.
Timeless restaurant with great small plates such as the chicken liver pate and the zucchini fritters. The bar is a great spot for a quick bite before a movie at Vogue Theater!
MoreFantasic food. Soup and sandwich at a good price. Service was superb. Free refills on iced tea when ordered. Clean bathroom and immaculate table set. Atmosphere was sophisticated but relaxed. We all left satisifed. Would go back again when back in San Francisco!
MoreNeighborhood chic spot
Great food and great service. Traveled from New York to dine there. Not disappointed. Fun time.
MoreGreat place for dinner with friends, get the fish!
Best chicken Milanese ever.
We had a great meal at Garibaldi's. It was a nice finish to a great day wandering around San Francisco.
MoreCool atmosphere and location. Not the most extensive menu but I enjoyed the mushroom risotto. Bartender was great; hostess was less than enthusiastic.
MoreSo awesome, ambiance is as good as the food!
The lamb was incredible! The celery root soup was delicate and perfectly creamy.
Garibaldi salad really good, such fresh greens! Had the pork chop with sauerkraut. It was okay. Friends lamb delicious as was dessert. I'll definitely go back but not order pork chop again.
MoreExcellent, high end leisurely lunch. Had the grilled portabello sandwich & fries. Top notch!
MoreFood and servers are great. But, the host is working at a job for which he is ill suited. Having a good positive attitude always helps. The host appears not to like his job or even some of the guests.
MoreI tried this spot in the past with a friend and I am addicted ever since. I like the fantastic vibes and flavorful food and drinks. Highly recommended.
MoreExcellent food
Service attitude needs improvement for the prices you pay
Flavors were amazing. The menu was well balanced and very approachable. The service was too notch and the atmosphere was lovely and elegant. The halibut was a tad under done making it s little tough. I had to cut it with a butter knife. otherwise everything was fantastic.
MoreGreat food, great atmosphere and great service. The reason for 4 stars is that the place is a bit noisy.
MoreThe service was very slow but the Sudie Margarita served up made it worth the wait
MoreGaribaldi's is one of those small restaurants that beams with understated confidence, and rightly so. The wait staff is competent, drinks are made to perfection, wine list is highly curated (wonderful $64 Mosso Malbec) menu has a nice selection without overwhelming (Garibaldi's special salad with peaches, candied walnuts and blue cheese was killer), and the house made pasta was delicious. Noise level was low enough that our group of eight could actually hear each other. An all around excellent experience.
MoreThe grilled octopus was a special and my sister and I really enjoyed it. Grilled perfectly. I don't eat meat and would have liked for there to be more pescatarian options for the main course. I ended up getting the sweet corn risotto. It was a good dish but did lack a little flavor overall. The service was good. The table we had was a little awkward because the lamp was very large and quite low, so my head was very close to it. There were many other tables in the restaurant and a nice back room that looked very comfy, so we may have just gotten unlucky with the seating.
